The Mission

Hi, My name is Mike Marquis and I’m a professional storyteller. Come to find out, I enjoy writing about successful people — uncovering the habits and routines that transform ordinary people into outliers. Whether it’s the CEO of a large multinational company or a New York Times bestselling novelist, my goal is to figure out what makes super successful people tick, apply it to my own life, and then share what I’ve learned with you – my reader. This is what this blog is all about. Nothing more. Nothing less.

The Ultimate Goal

As someone who runs an executive branding agency, my day-to-day consists of organizing thought leadership campaigns for businesses wanting to position their executives as industry trailblazers. This has given me invaluable professional experience and more importantly, the keys to unlocking the secrets of individual achievement. My plan is simple: to share with you everything I know about success and by doing so, have you reach new levels of achievement in whichever endeavor you see fit.

Whether it’s sculpting the perfect body, starting a dream business, crushing sales goals, landing the perfect partner in crime, or simply changing your entire outlook on life, everything begins with a concrete plan of attack. By studying the principles of individual achievement and zeroing in on the most compelling messages, I’ve been able to put together a collection of blog articles focused on reaching one’s optimal self. I don’t have all the answers, but I’m happy to share what I’ve learned from studying high achievers over the past decade. Want to hear more? Read my latest article: Starting Point of All Achievement.

Executive Branding & Thought Leadership

As a copywriter, I am responsible for aligning a company’s mission statement with the philosophy of its leadership. I start every executive interview with one simple, yet powerful question: What gets you up in the morning? The answers are going to motivate you to get up and reach your true potential. I’ve come to realize success and failure are so closely related to one another and most of the time, it’s all about mindset. The power of keeping your eye on the prize and implementing a plan of attack.

If your days are filled with regret or you simply don’t know the best approach to changing your life, I want my articles to be your compass – your guide to a new start. You only live once and to be completely honest, you never know when it’s going to end. It’s time to take control of your life and tell that fearful inner voice to go F themselves! If I’ve learned one thing interviewing executives over the years, being a “Yes Man” is a surefire way to end your happiness. If you love to please others instead of looking out for numero uno, it’s time to change these habits for good. As someone who is known for being a people-pleaser, changing my decision-making process took a lot of time and effort. But the moment I decided to apply what I learned from high achievers, I began reaping the benefits of a much more fulfilled life.

High Achievement Takes Dedication

My hope is to uncover the guiding principles that have made people super successful and deliver them in an easy-to-read super-digestible way. Every outlier has a story to tell and if you studied, like I have, the driving force behind their motivation, you can start mastering your own fate. This blog hopes to shed some light on the secret to happiness. Make no mistake, true happiness takes years of work and it is not to be taken lightly. Instead, my hope is to provide a practical compass for overcoming some of the barriers that may be standing in your way so that you can achieve greatness.
